The Hobart Hurricanes will have a strong presence on the international stage this month, with five players selected in Australia's 14-man squad for the upcoming five-match T20 series against England.
Mitchell Owen, Nikhil Chaudhary, Tim David, Nathan Ellis and Adam Zampa have all earned selection, with the Hurricanes accounting for more than a third of the Australian squad.
The selection marks a return to international colours for Owen, who has been recalled to the Australian set-up after making his T20 international debut last year.
The explosive all-rounder has established himself as one of the country's most exciting short-form talents, with his ability to provide rapid runs at the top of the order and contribute with the ball making him a valuable T20 asset.
Chaudhary has also retained his place in the international conversation after making his Australian debut against Bangladesh in June, where he featured in three T20 internationals.
The dynamic all-rounder has become a key figure in the Hurricanes' batting line-up, with his aggressive strokeplay and leg-spin providing valuable versatility.
They will be joined by established Australian representatives David and Ellis, who have both become integral members of the national T20 set-up.
David remains one of the most destructive finishers in world cricket, while Hurricanes skipper Ellis – who is on the verge of his return to the field following a side strain – has developed into one of Australia's most dependable bowlers in the shortest format.
Completing the Hurricanes contingent is champion leg-spinner Zampa, who joined the club ahead of BBL|16 and brings a wealth of international experience to the squad.
The five selections provide another significant endorsement of the quality and depth of the Hurricanes' playing list ahead of the upcoming Big Bash season.
Australia will be captained by Mitchell Marsh for the five-match series against England, which starts on November 21.
