Leg-spinner Isa Malgioglio has been called into the Hobart Hurricanes squad ahead of tomorrow’s WBBL|12 clash with the Sydney Sixers at Drummoyne Oval.
The South Australian has joined the defending champions in Sydney as a local replacement player for Amy Smith, who was ruled out of the opening two matches of the tournament through injury.
Malgioglio is no stranger to the Hurricanes, having been part of last summer’s championship-winning squad after earning a contract following an impressive showing in the Spring Challenge.
Her inclusion is one of two changes to the squad which suffered an 18-run defeat to the Melbourne Stars at Junction Oval on Thursday night.
Australian A representative Hayley Silver-Holmes also returns after missing the season opener through injury, providing a timely boost to the Hurricanes' bowling stocks.
Ella Hayward and Ira Aery are the players to make way.
The Hurricanes will be looking to bounce back from their opening-night defeat when they face an Ellyse Perry-led Sixers outfit.
