After their first home loss in nine BBL games, the Hobart Hurricanes will continue their BBL|15 campaign on Saturday night at Engie Stadium in Sydney against the Sydney Thunder.
The Thunder will be keen to make amends for their loss in the BBL|14 Grand Final rematch earlier this season. With only one win to their name in BBL|15, they currently sit at the bottom of the standings.
Last night’s loss to the Scorchers saw the Western Australian side post 3-229, with Nathan Ellis (2-44) the only Hurricanes bowler to claim multiple wickets.
Despite chasing a massive target, the Hurricanes remained competitive during their batting innings. Golden Bat leader Nikhil Chaudhary (31 off 15) top-scored, while Matt Wade (29 off 14) provided strong support as the ‘Cane Train fell 40 runs short.
Will Prestwidge returns to the squad for the match against the Thunder, replacing Hugo Burdon in the 14-player travelling group.
Jake Weatherald and Beau Webster remain unavailable due to Ashes commitments but are expected to return after the fifth Test.
