Wakim joins as Local Replacement Player for the Hurricanes!

In news that Hurricanes fans will be pleased to hear, crowd favourite and Tasmanian Tigers batter Charlie Wakim is returning to the Hurricanes list as a Local Replacement Player for Tim David in BBL|15.

Following the announcement of David's season-ending hamstring injury against the Perth Scorchers, with the T20 World Cup on the horizon, Wakim comes in to fill a role as a batter for the Hurricanes.

Wakim featured in four BBL|14 games last summer towards the backend of the tournament, playing a key role within the top four of the batting line-up.

In previous seasons, Wakim has also represented the Brisbane Heat and Melbourne Stars, while continuing to perform strongly for the Tasmanian Tigers in domestic cricket.

In the Wilson Homes Cricket Tasmania Premier League, he has been in scintillating form for Lindisfarne, having scored five centuries this year - three of those in the T20 competition.

Wakim joins the Hurricanes as a Local Replacement Player, with the full Hurricanes squad as follows: Rehan Ahmed (O/S), Marcus Bean, Jackson Bird, Hugo Burdon (LRP), Iain Carlisle, Nikhil Chaudhary, Tim David, Nathan Ellis, Rishad Hossain (O/S), Chris Jordan (O/S), Ben McDermott, Riley Meredith, Mitch Owen, Will Prestwidge (LRP), Billy Stanlake, Matt Wade, Tim Ward, Jake Weatherald, Beau Webster, and Mac Wright.

The Hurricanes return to BBL|15 action tomorrow night with a massive New Year's Day home match against the Perth Scorchers. Tickets are on sale now.
