Burdon joins as Local Replacement Player for the Hurricanes!

Following an injury to pace bowler Iain Carlisle, the Hobart Hurricanes have called upon Queensland batter Hugo Burdon to join their BBL|15 squad as a Local Replacement Player.

Burdon, a right-handed batter for the Queensland Bulls, has played six One Day Cup and two Sheffield Shield matches for the Maroons and has been part of the Brisbane Heat's squad in previous Big Bash seasons.

He has a high score of 59 in the Sheffield Shield from earlier in the season against NSW and has also been dominating Queensland Premier Cricket, having scored a run-a-ball 216 for Gold Coast CC in November.

An attacking batter who can bat anywhere across the top order will be sure to play a role for the Hurricanes if called upon throughout BBL|15.

Iain Carlisle, who is being replaced by Burdon, will miss the majority of BBL|15 due to a hamstring injury, which occurred during the Wilson Homes Cricket Tasmania Premier League match earlier in December. Updates on his return to play will be communicated to the media once more information becomes available.

Burdon joins the Hurricanes as a Local Replacement Player, with the full Hurricanes squad as follows: Rehan Ahmed (O/S), Marcus Bean, Jackson Bird, Iain Carlisle, Nikhil Chaudhary, Tim David, Nathan Ellis, Rishad Hossain (O/S), Chris Jordan (O/S), Ben McDermott, Riley Meredith, Mitch Owen, Will Prestwidge (LRP), Billy Stanlake, Matt Wade, Tim Ward, Jake Weatherald, Beau Webster, and Mac Wright.

The Hurricanes return to BBL|15 action tomorrow night with a huge home match against the Melbourne Renegades. Tickets are on sale now.
