The Hobart Hurricanes will look to continue their winning form in WBBL|11 with a match tomorrow afternoon against last year’s WBBL champions, the Melbourne Renegades.
Fresh off a massive last-over win against the Adelaide Strikers at Ninja Stadium, the Hurricanes are 4-0 and yet to lose a game in WBBL|11.
After skipper Elyse Villani won the toss and elected to bowl, the Cane Train’s bowlers repaid the faith with their best powerplay performance of the season, restricting the Strikers to 1-19 off the first four overs.
The Purple Army continued their great form with the ball, managing to hold Adelaide to 7-134, with Nic Carey (2-29) and Heather Graham (2-23) the pick of the Hurricanes’ bowlers.
With the bat, it was Danni Wyatt-Hodge who carried her bat with a Player of the Match performance, scoring 72* off 57 balls, while Hayley Silver-Holmes hit two boundaries in the final over to get the ’Canes home.
Tomorrow’s match sees the first-placed Hurricanes take on the second-placed Melbourne Renegades, who have lost only one game so far.
The Hurricanes squad remains unchanged from their match against the Strikers last night, with the same thirteen players included.
Amy Smith is unavailable for selection following a hamstring injury sustained during the WNCL season but is tracking well for a return towards the backend of WBBL|11.
Tomorrow’s match starts at 3:40 pm AEDT at North Sydney Oval in Sydney, despite being a home game for the Melbourne Renegades.
