Hobart Airport & Hobart Hurricanes Strengthen Ties in Partnership

Cricket Tasmania is pleased to confirm that Hobart Airport has renewed its agreement for a further two years.

After a successful initial two-year partnership as the Official Coaches Partner of the Hobart Hurricanes, Hobart Airport’s ongoing support continues to play a vital role in helping our coaches perform at their best.

The airport provides a seamless travel experience for our players and coaches as they travel interstate for matches and also serves as an ideal location for media conferences ahead of key away games.

Beyond match-day logistics, the partnership has extended into meaningful off-field collaboration.

In previous seasons, Hurricanes coaches and the Sports Science and Sports Medicine (SSSM) team have delivered presentations to Hobart Airport staff, sharing insights into physical and mental wellbeing in high-performance environments and demonstrating how elite sporting practices can be applied in the workplace.

Cricket Tasmania’s Partnerships and Infrastructure General Manager, Ali Turner, welcomed the renewal.

“In today’s professional cricket landscape, where travel is a constant, partnering with Tasmania’s premier airport is a natural fit.

‘The renewal of this partnership for another two years highlights Hobart Airport’s strong commitment to the Hobart Hurricanes and the broader Tasmanian cricket community.

“It is also an exciting time to be aligned with Hobart Airport, as their major redevelopment takes shape, and we’re looking forward to welcoming even more fans from around the country to Hurricanes matches this summer.

Hobart Airport COO Matt Cocker is delighted to be working with the Hurricanes again this season.

“Hobart Airport is proudly on board the Cane Train for another two years,”

“Every time the Hurricanes take to the field, they bring thousands of fans together for a sporting and social spectacle like no other.

"This is what Hobart Airport is all about, connecting communities," said Cocker

The Hobart Hurricanes’ WBBL campaign kicks off on Sunday 9 November at Allan Border Field, with their first home match at Ninja Stadium on Tuesday 18 November against the Adelaide Strikers.
