Hobart Hurricanes Squad Announcement vs Adelaide Strikers

In their first game at Ninja Stadium for this WBBL season, the Hobart Hurricanes return to play tomorrow night against the Adelaide Strikers in what is poised to be a great contest.

After defeating the Brisbane Heat in a rain-affected match in Sydney, the ‘Cane Train are sitting at 3-0, having not lost a game in WBBL|11 yet.

Batting first on Saturday afternoon, the opening partnership of Lizelle Lee and Danni Wyatt-Hodge continued to dominate bowling attacks across the WBBL.

Lee (59* off 45 balls) and Wyatt-Hodge (44 off 26) put together a 109-run partnership after coming off for rain after six overs, before the game was reduced to 12 overs per side.

Due to the DLS method, the Heat were left with a target of 124 to chase, and it was the Hurricanes’ experienced trio of Nic Carey (2-10), Heather Graham (2-25), and Molly Strano (2-17) taking multiple wickets as they restricted Brisbane to 9-108, winning the match with ease.

Tomorrow’s match sees the Strikers in fifth place with five points, having won one, lost one, and recorded a no-result due to weather.

Their last match against the Perth Scorchers was also affected by weather and resulted in a loss for the team from South Australia.

The Hurricanes remain unchanged from their match against the Heat on Saturday, with the same thirteen players included in their squad.

Amy Smith is unavailable for selection following a hamstring injury sustained during the WNCL season but is tracking well for a return towards the backend of WBBL|11.

Tomorrow’s match starts at 7.10 pm AEDT at Ninja Stadium in Hobart.
