Fresh off their first-ever BBL|14 title, the Hobart Hurricanes BBL|15 schedule can now be shared publicly.
The Hurricanes kick off their title defence in a BBL Final rematch against David Warner’s Sydney Thunder on a Tuesday night.
As part of this first game, the Hurricanes will raise their BBL|14 Championship banner, and fans will have their first opportunity since the sold-out Final to watch the Hurricanes BBL side play on Ninja Stadium.
A two-game road trip to Victoria against the Stars and Renegades in consecutive matches at the MCG and a redemption game against the Renegades at GMHBA Stadium follows as the ‘Cane Train will look to make amends from last season.
The festive season heats up with a Boxing Day showdown against the Scorchers in Perth before the Hurricanes return to host two thrilling home games against the Renegades and Scorchers, including the traditional New Year’s Day match.
The Hurricanes’ BBL|15 regular season moves towards its conclusion, with two separate away trips to Sydney and a vital home fixture against the Adelaide Strikers on Friday 9 January, as their push to confirm a home final berth continues.
Finishing BBL|15 is a home fixture against the Brisbane Heat on Wednesday 14 January, before the BBL Finals begin earlier in the following week.
Cricket Tasmania CEO Dominic Baker is pleased with this year’s schedule.
“The BBL|15 schedule has me excited about this coming season, especially our first game on 16 December in the Grand Final rematch between the ‘Canes and Sydney Thunder, as we want to replicate the experience that fans felt during the BBL Final during our season opener, a sold-out Ninja Stadium!
“Our traditional post-Christmas and New Year’s Day matches remain a crucial part of our cricket calendar, and fans will once again be able to go from a Hurricanes match and experience all that Tasmania has to offer during this fantastic period," said Baker.
