Tigers and Hurricanes Women hit the road for MyState Community Blitz

24 September 2018

Stars from the Tasmanian Tigers and Hobart Hurricanes Women's teams will hit the road this week for phase two of the MyState Community Blitz.

The players as well as staff from Cricket Tasmania will spend three days (Tuesday 25 September - Thursday 27 September) traveling around the state facilitating cricket clinics in schools followed by Q&A and autograph signing sessions.

The Blitz was a huge success last month with Tigers and Hurricanes Men's players visiting 2,500 children in over 40 schools across three days.

Phase two of the Blitz will see 2,900 more children visited in over 40 more schools. Totaling incredible numbers of over 6,000 children and 200 schools across six days when you combine both phases of the Blitz initiative.

Hobart Hurricanes General Manager, Phil Rigby, says the MyState Community Blitz is all about promoting the importance of a healthy lifestyle in children.

"To be able to pair up with our valued partner State on something as a big as the Community Blitz is fantastic," says Rigby.
"We're looking forward to promoting the benefits of physical activity and introducing children to the game of cricket, while taking the Tigers and Hurricanes players all around the State as we strive to reach our goal of being #TasmaniasTeam."
