Despite it being the Hurricanes 10th game of the tournament, it will in fact be the first time both sides have met thus far in KFC BBL|10.
Despite the Scorchers having got the wood over the Hurricanes by 77 runs in their most recent KFC BBL meeting almost a year ago to the day, the ‘Canes actually have a good record in Perth. The Hurricanes have won their last three KFC BBL matches against Perth Scorchers in Perth, something they will be looking to replicate tomorrow night.
Key players to keep an eye on for the Hurricanes will include Nathan Ellis, who has recorded almost twice the number of deliveries at the death (overs 17 to 20) than any other bowler so far this season (100), picking up eight wickets and logging an impressive 39 dot balls during that period.
Meanwhile, opening batsman, D’Arcy Short, scored an unbeaten century (103*) in his last BBL game against the Scorchers, helping the Hurricanes secure an eight-run victory. Short will be looking to emulate this form in front of his cricketing state home crowd at Optus Stadium.
The Hurricanes have named an unchanged, 16-player squad to face the Scorchers:
If selected in the final XI, Mitch Owen will make his Hurricanes debut.
The first ball of tomorrow’s match will be bowled at 4.15pm local time (6.10pm Tassie time).
The match will be broadcast on Channel 7, Foxtel and SEN, and will be also be available to livestream via Kayo Sports.
