After a thrilling one-run win over the Brisbane Heat at the Gabba, the Hurricanes returned to Hobart on New Years’ Eve, and have been bolstered by the inclusion of Nepalese spinner, Sandeep Lamichhane, in the squad, who met up the team in Hobart following completion of his mandatory 14-day quarantine.
In an ironic twist, it will be his former side in the Melbourne Stars that Lammichhane will face first in purple, with both him and Hurricanes Captain, Pete Handscomb, coming across from the Melbourne-based club following BBL|09.
Assuming he is selected in the starting XI tomorrow, it will also be D’Arcy Short’s 50th KFC BBL appearance.
The Hurricanes have named a 17-player squad to face the Stars tomorrow, with the only change to being Lamichhane coming in for Keemo Paul, given teams are only allowed to name three internationals in their squad.
If selected in the final XI, Sandeep Lamichhane, Mitch Owen, Charlie Wakim and Nick Winter will make their Hurricanes debuts.
An extremely limited number of tickers are still available for tomorrow’s match, however they must be purchased before getting to the ground. For more information and to purchase, head to: hobarthurricanes.com.au/tickets.
The first ball will be at 5.05pm.
