The Hurricanes will be looking to atone from their five-wicket loss to the Strikers in Launceston on Tuesday, but they won’t be the only side out for revenge, with the Renegades also coming off a loss; by 145 runs to the Sixers to be exact.
The Hurricanes will obviously have the home-ground advantage, but they also have some in-form players on their side. The top two run scorers of the KFC BBL|10 to date currently wear purple – Colin Ingram (126) and Tim David (103) – whilst James Faulkner is currently the league’s joint leading wicket taker, with seven scalps to his name.
On top of this, Ingram and David have notched up the most boundaries of the tournament thus far – 16 and 14 respectively – whilst four of the top five players in terms of dot balls bowled are Hurricanes; Riley Meredith with 32, Faulkner with 31, Scott Boland with 25 and Nathan Ellis with 24.
With West Indian Keemo Paul joining up with the Hurricanes squad in Hobart this week and Mitch Owen being pronounced fit and available for selection, the Hurricanes have named an 18-player squad to face the Hurricanes:
If selected in the final XI, Mitch Owen, Wil Parker, Keemo Paul, Charlie Wakim and Nick Winter will make their Hurricanes debuts.
There are still a limited number of tickets available for tomorrow’s clash, however they must be purchased before departing for the ground. For more information and to purchase, head to: www.hobarthurricanes.com.au/tickets.
