The Hobart Hurricanes have started their week of signing announcements ahead of Big Bash tickets going on sale by adding big-hitting allrounder Simon Milenko to its squad for KFC BBL|08.
The Queensland-born Milenko played six matches for the Hurricanes in BBL and was dismissed just twice, amassing 110 runs at an average of 55 and a strike rate of 171. He's also a more than capable medium-fast bowler and is lightning quick in the field.
Hurricanes Head Coach, Adam Griffith, says he's delighted to have Milenko back in purple for another Big Bash season.
"Simon's a player who gives us some great hitting ability in the middle order as well as his handy medium pace which gives us some options in the Middle of an innings in the field," said Griffith.
"When you add in his speed and ability in the field he's a great all-round option who can play a number of different roles for the Hurricanes."
Milenko - who also has a degree in accounting but now plays all three forms of top level domestic cricket in Hobart, is looking forward to being back in front of a full Blundstone Arena for another year.
"I'm thrilled to sign on for another season with the Hurricanes, with the goal of going one better this year," said Milenko.
"I can't wait to put on the purple again in front of big home crowd come December."
