The Hobart Hurricanes will travel to Melbourne in search of their fourth KFC BBL|09 victory as they take on the Melbourne Renegades at Marvel Stadium tonight.
Despite an unbeaten 90 from South African star David Miller, the Hurricanes fell to the Adelaide Strikers on Sunday afternoon in Launceston.
Hurricanes Head Coach Adam Griffith has made no changes to the 13-man squad that took on the Strikers.

BBL|09 – Match 11 – 24 December 2019
Nathan Ellis, James Faulkner and Riley Meredith all took three wickets to restrict the Renegades to 147 at Blundstone Arena. Despite losing two wickets in consecutive balls, D’Arcy Short (60 off 45), Ben McDermott (51 off 48) and David Miller (25 off 15) steadied the ship and lead the Hurricanes to a seven wicket victory.
Nathan Ellis v Shaun Marsh
Marsh has been a key contributor in the Renegades’ resurgence, picking up 47 and 27 in their last two games. After a nine-game losing streak to begin the season, the Renegades have peeled off consecutive victories against the Thunder and Heat.
Ellis dismissed Marsh in their previous matchup and picked up 1/33 against the Strikers on Sunday.
The burning question...
Will the Hurricanes’ stop the red-hot Renegades?
No one expected the defending BBL champions to begin their season on a nine-game losing streak, but they have bounced back with back-to-back victories. Their confidence will be sky-high after taking 10/36 against the Heat on Sunday night to record an unexpected victory. Cam Boyce and Dan Christian have been impressive with the ball, while Marsh and Sam Harper have starred with bat in hand. The Hurricanes will need to find another gear to take down a team that is full of energy.
It’s a big game for...
The Hurricanes spinner was the talk of the BBL in the early stages, but after going wicketless against the Strikers, the 19-year-old will look to bounce back against the Renegades. Ahmad took 1/23 in his four overs against the Renegades on 24 December and has claimed 11 wickets at 27.73 in his first BBL campaign.
