Whilst speaking with media on the eve of England's crucial World Cup bout with Australia at Lord's, Jofra Archer, who leads the wicket taking alongside Mitchell Starc and Mohammad Amir, credited his time with the Hobart Hurricanes for further growing his career.
Many fans questioned the signing of Archer when it was first announced, but the Barbados-born quick soon silenced his doubters upon his arrival Down Under as the Hurricanes surprised many in BBL|07 to reach the Grand Final, before bowing out frustratingly in the BBL|08 Semi-Final back in February having led the pack all season long.
Archer and James Faulkner led the Hurricanes wicket takers with 18 wickets a piece in 18-19 - exceeding his BBL|07 tally by one wicket.
"It opened some more paths for me," said Archer on his time so far with the Hurricanes.
"The Indian Premier League draft is during the Big Bash so it's on TV and you can be seen even before the draft so it's opened up a lot more opportunities for me."
The 24-year-old continued to say that having been separate from the Australia-England rivalry previously could be an advantage heading into tonight's encounter between the two sides.
The match begins at 7:30pm and can be watched live on Gem, Fox Sports and Kayo.
