It will be the teams’ second meeting of the tournament, but hopefully the first on in which they will be able to get a result, after their first meeting in Launceston yielded no result due to poor weather.
In that match it was Mignon du Preez who starred for the Hurricanes, top scoring with 39 runs off 35 balls, aptly aided by Naomi Stalenberg, who finished unbeaten on 21 at a strike rate of 123.53. The Hurricanes reached a respectable 5-107 with the bat off 16 overs before the match was abandoned, a tally they will hope to repeat and exceed in North Queensland.
The Hurricanes have named an unchanged 14-player squad for their match against the Strikers:
Mignon du Preez
Rachel Priest (c)
If selected in the final XI, Maddi Brooks and Angelina Genford will make their Hurricanes debuts.
The first ball in tomorrow’s match will be bowled at 3.40pm AEDT, with the game to be broadcast on 7 Cricket, Fox Cricket and ABC Sport.
