Clive Rose re-signs for BBL|08

04 October 2018

To coincide with BBL|08 tickets going on sale this morning, the Hurricanes have added left-arm orthodox spinner, Clive Rose, to its squad for the summer ahead.

Clive Rose was with the Hurricanes last summer and provided a versatile bowling option and has proven his lower order hitting ability so far this summer in the JLT One-Day Cup with the Tasmanian Tigers.

Hurricanes Head Coach, Adam Griffith, say it's great to have Rose back in purple to add further depth with bat and ball to the side.

"Clive's had an excellent pre-season and has started off very well in the JLT Cup," says Griffith.

"He gives us options at the top of the innings with the ability to open the bowl and he can also bowl through the middle overs."

"He also gives us depth in our batting order as he has shown recently, helping get the Tigers over the line in a few games during the One-Day tournament."

Rose, who claimed eight wickets last BBL campaign, can't wait to play in Hobart and Launceston again this summer.

"I'm so pleased to be back in purple and playing in front of our passionate supporters," says Rose.

"We enjoyed playing at Launceston last so year so to have another chance to play in front of a big crowd up there will be fantastic."

The Hurricanes BBL|08 season gets underway on December 22 at Metricon Stadium on the Gold Coast vs. the Brisbane Heat, before a HUGE opening home on Christmas Eve afternoon against the Melbourne Stars.

Tickets to all Big Bash matches are on sale at 11am here.
