The Hobart Hurricanes congratulate spinner Celeste Raack on being selected in Ireland's squad for the impending ICC Women's World T20 in the West Indies.
Raack will join up with her new Irish teammates in the coming days prior to the tournament getting underway in the Caribbean with warm-up matches from November 4 before the tournament begins for the Irish against Australia on November 11 in Guyana.
Speaking to Cricket Ireland about her selection, Celeste says she can't wait for the fantastic opportunity to arrive.
“I am very excited and honoured to have been selected for Ireland for the World Cup," said Raack.
"I am flying in on Friday to join the squad in their preparation for the tournament and am very much looking forward to it. I am hoping that this will be the start of a long career as an Irish cricketer.
Head Coach of the Hurricanes Women, Salliann Briggs, is delighted to see a member of both her Tigers and Hurricanes squad be selected for the top level.
"This has been a tough decision for Celeste, but what an exciting opportunity," said Briggs.
"She has worked very hard on her action over the last few months so I'm looking forward to seeing her put pressure on the world's best batters.
"Ever players dream is to play at a World Cup and everyone at Cricket Tasmania wish her all the best."
