Blundstone Arena will become the home of carols on Christmas Eve after it was announced on Friday that as part of an extended partnership deal with Tassal Salmon, the Tassal Family Christmas Carols will be held after the Hurricanes home season opener vs. Melbourne Stars.
Ticket holders will be invited to stay at the ground following the Hurricanes BBL side's first home game of the summer and Cricket Tasmania CEO, Nick Cummins, is hoping for the event to become a family tradition among Big Bash fans.
"It's going to be fantastic to work with Tassal and get the carols back up and running in Hobart," he said.
"We hope to have a lot of families out supporting the Hurricanes and then straight after the game having a really good night with John X, who is one of Hobart's great entertainers," he said.
"And ultimately, we hope the event becomes a tradition for Tasmanian families for many, many years to come."
"On behalf of Tassal, we're thrilled to announce our partnership with the Hurricanes," said Barb McGregor, Tassal's Head of Engagement.
"We had a really successful first 12 months as partner last year and it hasn't just been about supporting cricket, it's also been about supporting regional communities."
"We're absolutely excited about the Christmas Eve spectacular and we're working with the Hurricanes team to bring the event to life and I think that's going to be a fantastic event for Hobart and for Tasmania."
