The ground has hosted an array of International and Domestic cricket matches and the installation of light towers suitable for international cricket saw the ground come alight in 2009 to the excitement of local cricket fans. Hobartians love the thrills and excitement of Twenty20 cricket and a close to capacity crowd of over 15,575 people witnessed the first Twenty20 International match at Blundstone Arena in February 2010.

A ten minute drive from Hobart’s city centre, the home of the Hobart Hurricanes’ - Blundstone Arena is conveniently located on Hobart’s eastern shore.

The current capacity for the oval is 15,500.  However,  a record crowd of 16,719 witnessed the first game at the newly renovated ground for a one day international between Australia and England back in 2003.

Upon arrival at the ground, public access into the oval and ticket windows are located at the main entrance on the corner of Derwent and Church Streets.  The South Gate, further down Church Street is also open for convenient access for the Southern Stand or hill.

The Members Gate is located about 20 metres from the General publics’ access in Derwent Street.

Blundstone Arena consists of four main areas- the Southern Stand, the Members and Players Pavilion, the North East Stuart Spencer Stand and the Kookaburra Indoor Centre.  The hilly bank on the western side of ground is also a popular spot for families wanting to bring kids and the wet area below the giant replay screen caters for those wanting to enjoy a beverage whilst taking in all the action on the field!

There are bar and kiosk facilities available throughout the venue, as shown on the venue map. Outside the oval, just a short stroll away is the beachside ‘Fish Bar’ or the ‘Food Store’ for the best fresh Tasmanian produce!
