The Hobart Hurricanes will assist in raising funds in numerous ways for those who have been affected by the devastating Tasmanian Bushfires.
All Hobart Hurricanes' players playing shirts will be auctioned on a special online auction site to go live on Friday and this site will also feature other items of cricket memorabilia with all funds raised going to the Red Cross Tasmanian Bushfires Appeal.
Former Australian Captain and Hurricanes batsman Ricky Ponting has expressed his desire to assist in raising funds and will add numerous items to this auction site.
The Hurricanes are also in talks with the Brisbane Heat who will play at Blundstone Arena this Saturday to see in what ways they would like to assist.
There will be volunteers collecting donations for the appeal at our final home game this Saturday against the Brisbane Heat so ensure you come along to not only support the Hurricanes but also all those fellow Tasmanians in need.
Cricket Tasmania Chairman Tony Harrison yesterday expressed sadness for those affected by the bushfires on behalf of the Board, players and staff at Cricket Tasmania and the Hobart Hurricanes.
“Our hearts go out to anyone who has been affected by these devastating fires and Cricket Tasmania in conjunction with the Australian cricket community will look at a range of initiatives over the coming weeks to help those that need assistance.
